So pack your bags and let’s hit the road!

Day 1: Dublin to Wicklow

Bray Co. Wicklow

Distance: ~70 km | Driving Time: ~1.5 hours

Driving Directions:

Start your journey by heading southeast out of Dublin on the R118.

Follow the coast through Dún Laoghaire and Bray, then take the R755 inland into the Wicklow Mountains.

This gentle opening leg gives you a taste of what’s to come—panoramic views from Killiney Hill, Victorian seaside charm in Bray, and the elegant tranquility of Powerscourt Gardens. The narrow roads into Glendalough encourage a slower pace, inviting you to absorb the peaceful atmosphere of the nearby historic monastic ruins and crystal clear lakes.

Where to Stay: Nearby guesthouses in Laragh or scenic campgrounds in the Wicklow Mountains.

Waterford’s Viking Triangle
