Do I need a Repair or Replacement?

At Autoglass® we prefer to repair your existing windscreen before replacing it with a new one, usually saving you both time and money. Sometimes, the type, size and position of the damage will mean that a repair is not possible and the Windscreen will need to be replaced. Please take a look at our Repair or Replace presentation to see if your windscreen can be repaired or whether a replacement is required. Is it safe to drive until I have the work completed?

Modern windscreens are made of two layers of glass with a tough layer of film in between. This means that your windscreen will rarely collapse. As a fully mobile service, you don’t need to drive to us for your repair/replacement, we can come to you at a time and place of your choosing. Book your appointment online now.

I have made an appointment, how do I know when the technician will arrive?

The technician assigned to your job will ring the number you specify in your booking between 08:30am and 10:00am on the morning of your appointment and confirm the estimated time of arrival and completion of work.

What is covered by Warranty?

Our lifetime warranty on workmanship is nationwide and you are covered as long as you own the vehicle. At Autoglass® we do everything possible to get things right first time, every time. However, problems can occasionally occur and if one does, we will act quickly to put matters right. In the unlikely event that you do experience a problem, simply call us free of charge on 1850 36 36 36 to speak with one of our Customer Service Representatives.

I want to take my vehicle to your branch, when are you open?

Our branches are open Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 17:30 and on Saturdays from 09:00 to 13:00. Use our branch locator to find the most convenient Autoglass® branch for you.

I have had a job done and wish to discuss this with somebody, how can I do this?

Your feedback is useful for us, as it helps us to further improve the service we offer you. If you have any comments or questions about the job that have been completed, you can contact us free on 1850 363655. You can also contact us via email.

It is likely to be raining when my technician arrives, what cover do I need to have available?

Our technicians cannot complete repairs or replacements in the rain it affects the quality of our work. We need a covered space such as a carport or garage. Both the passenger and drivers doors need to be under cover when opened for the technician to work on your vehicle. In the event that your appointment has been scheduled on a rainy day and you do not have sufficient cover or you cannot travel to a branch, the branch will contact you to reschedule. Alternatively, you can contact our customer contact centre on 1850 363655 and one of representatives will arrange your appointment at the next available time.

Are your Technicians qualified?

Our Technicians are trained to the highest international standards. Every Autoglass® Technician is required to achieve the independent Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) accredited standard and our Waterford branch is an accredited training centre. Also, all Autoglass® Technicians are trained to our internal ‘Belron® Way of Fitting’ training programme and continually assessed to ensure compliance.

How long will it be before I can drive my vehicle safely?

Usually, you can drive away one hour after a front windscreen or rear window replacement, or immediately after a windscreen repair or side window replacement.

Our technicians use the best materials, including the industry's first adhesive with a one-hour drive-away time for windscreen installations. The technician will advise you if any additional time is required.

How much will it cost?

Simply put, the cost will depend on three main factors:

  • The type of damage e.g. a chip or a crack
  • The piece of glass that is damaged e.g. the windscreen or side window
  • If your vehicle insurance covers you for glass damage

We work closely with the majority of Ireland's major insurance companies so when you need our help all you have to do is contact us on 1850 363655. We'll manage your insurance claim and in the majority of cases we take care of the paperwork for you.

Yes, absolutely.

Any repair or replacement – as well as the parts and workmanship – is guaranteed for as long as you own the vehicle.
